Freshman middle Emma Granger of the volleyball team is the recipient of the Giant Eagle RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 22, 2017. In a vote of Northeast Conference (NEC) head coaches, Granger was selected as the 2017 NEC Rookie of the Year (11/16/17). She also earned a spot on the 2017 All-NEC First Team for her accomplishments, the lone member of the Colonials to earn All-NEC status. In the semifinals of the 2017 NEC Tournament, Granger led Robert Morris against LIU Brookyn with 14 kills and a .276 attack percentage. She also posted a pair of block assists. In 114 sets as a freshman, Granger, a native of Dalton, Ohio, posted team highs in kills (333), attack percentage (.336), service aces (61) and blocks (110). She led the NEC in service aces (0.54 per game) and also finished second in the circuit in attack percentage.
