Earning his second Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week nod of the 2017-18 season is sophomore Dachon Burke of the basketball team. In the first two home games of the year for the Colonials at PPG Paints Arena last week, Burke helped lead Robert Morris to a pair of victories by averaging 20.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals while shooting 48.3 percent (14-for-29) from the field, including 53.8 percent (7-for-13) from beyond the arc. In a 78-75 win over Rider (12/6/17), Burke supplied 15 points, eight rebounds, five assists and a steal. Four days later in a 74-60 victory over Drexel (12/10/17), Burke scored a game-high 25 points while contributing four rebounds, two assists and five steals. Thanks to the performance, Burke claimed his third consecutive Northeast Conference Player of the Week (12/11/17) accolade, the first student-athlete to turn the trick in the league since 2011. In nine games this season, Burke leads the Colonials in scoring (17.3 ppg) and steals (2.67 per game). He leads the NEC in steals per game and ranks fifth in the circuit in scoring.
