Sophomore goaltender Francis Marotte of the hockey team earns his second consecutive Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week nod in the first honor of the new year. Marotte finished 1-1 in between the pipes at the Three Rivers Classic at PPG Paints Arena last weekend, posting 1.01 goals against averages and a .959 save percentage in two games. In a 5-0 win over Lake Superior State (12/29/17), Marotte posted his third shutout of the season and fifth of his career in the victory by turning away 19 shots. He also finished with 28 saves against Providence (12/30/17) in the championship game. For his efforts, Marotte was named the Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week (1/2/18). In 19 games this season, Marotte owns an 8-8-1 overall record and owns a goals against average of 2.66 and a .914 save percentage.
