A double shot of the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week honor for Jan. 10, 2018, also goes to junior forward Alex Tonge of the hockey team. In a 3-1 victory @ Niagara (1/9/18) that opened the calendar year for the Colonials, Tonge scored a pair of goals and assisted on the other in the win at Dwyer Arena. Tonge scored at 19:48 of the first period to give Robert Morris a 1-0 lead heading into intermission, and he scored on the power play at 16:13 of the second period in what proved to be the game-winning goal. He also recorded an assist on Timmy Moore’s goal at 11:50 of the third period to give RMU a 3-0 lead. In 21 games this season, Tonge has compiled six goals and 12 assists for 18 points.
