No stranger to receiving the Giant Eagle RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week nod is redshirt senior forward Brittany Howard of the hockey squad, who garners her fifth honor of the 2017-18 season for Valentine’s Day. In a sweep of Lindenwood at the RMU Island Sports Center, Howard finished with a pair of goals and two assists while also recording a +3. In the process, Howard established a new career record for goals during the sweep. A native of St. Thomas, Ontario, Howard lit the lamp just 3:31 into the opening game of the series for her 73rd career goal, tying the school record. She scored her 74th to move into sole possession of first place the next afternoon. For her efforts, Howard was selected as the College Hockey America (CHA) Co-Player of the Week as well as the No. 2 Star of the Week by the NCAA. In 25 games this season, Howard leads the CHA in points with 41. Â
