Named the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Valentine’s Day is sophomore guard Dachon Burke of the basketball team. In a split during RMU’s annual trip through Brooklyn, N.Y., last week, Burke provided averages of 28.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals while shooting 62.9 percent (22-for-35) from the field, including 50 percent (3-for-6) from beyond the arc. He posted career highs in scoring in both games, finishing with 27 @ St. Francis Brooklyn (2/8/18) before bettering that with 29 points in a 96-82 victory @ LIU Brooklyn (2/10/18). For his efforts, Burke was selected as the Northeast Conference Player of the Week, his fourth honor of the year. It marks the most accolades in a season for an RMU student-athlete in program history. In 26 games in 2017-18, Burke leads Robert Morris and ranks fifth in the NEC in scoring at 17.3 points per game.
