Named the Giant Eagle RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for March 7, 2018, is redshirt junior attack Matt Schmidt of the lacrosse team. In a 16-11 victory over High Point (3/3/18) at Joe Walton Stadium, Schmidt paced the Robert Morris offense with four goals and four assists. Thanks to his performance, Schmidt, a native of Doylestown, Pa., became the second player in program history to register at least eight points in a game on two occasions. He completed the hat trick in the third quarter and finished with a pair of goals in the quarter as RMU opened up a 16-5 advantage. Schmidt, who was selected as the Northeast Conference Player of the Week (3/5/18), owns a team-high 11 goals in 2018 while ranking second for the Colonials in points with 18.
