Sophomore Emma Granger of the volleyball team has been tabbed the Peoples Natural Gas RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 19, 2018. The middle blocker who hails from Dalton, Ohio, helped guide the Colonials to a 2-1 record in its annual home tournament last weekend, the RMU Sheraton Invitational at the North Athletic Complex. Granger hit .326 for the tournament, averaging 3.29 kills per set while totaling 10 blocks. In a 3-2 victory over Eastern Michigan (9/14) to open the tournament, Granger notched 16 kills and a pair of blocks, then added 14 kills, a .333 attack percentage and four blocks in a 3-2 win over Houston (9/15). In addition to being named to the RMU Sheraton Invitational All-Tournament Team, Granger was selected as the Molten Northeast Conference Player of the Week. In 12 matches in 2018, Granger has recorded 127 kills, an average of 2.49 per set, to go along with a .283 attack percentage. She leads Robert Morris in blocks with 43.
