Senior forward Malik Petteway of the basketball team is one of two student-athletes to be named the Peoples Natural Gas RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Dec. 26, 2018. In the final non-conference road game of the 2018-19 campaign for Robert Morris, Petteway stuffed the stat sheet, compiling 10 points, six rebounds and tying a career high with three steals. It was on the defensive end, however, that Petteway, a native of Waterbury, Conn., shined brightest. He rejected five shots by the Cardinals, a career high. In 2018-19, Petteway ranks sixth in the Northeast Conference in both field goal percentage (.517) and blocked shots (1.25 per game) and has supplied the Colonials with averages of 10.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest.
