Senior guard Josh Williams of the men’s basketball squad has been named the Peoples Natural Gas RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Feb. 6, 2019. In a pair of games last week, Williams, a native of Akron, Ohio, averaged 22.0 points and 2.5 assists while shooting 45.5 percent (15-for-33) from the field, including 43.5 percent (10-for-23) from beyond the arc. Williams scored a game-high 34 points @ Fairleigh Dickinson (2/2/19) in a double overtime setback, eclipsing the 30-point plateau for the second time this season. He shot 12-for-25 from the floor against the Knights, including 7-for-15 from beyond the arc. Thanks to his performance @ FDU, Williams pushed his season total in three-pointers to 77, which ranks 10th in the Robert Morris single-season record book. He also pushed his NCAA Division I career total to 204. In 23 games for RMU in 2018-19, each as a member of the starting lineup, Williams leads the Colonials with an average of 15.1 points per game.
