Earning his second straight Higher Images RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week accolade and fourth of the 2013-14 campaign is senior guard Karvel Anderson of the basketball team. A native of Elkhart, Ind., Anderson was selected as the 2014 Northeast Conference Player of the Year in a vote of league head coaches Tuesday, the third student-athlete from RMU to garner the league’s top honor in the last seven years. Anderson enters the 2014 NEC Tournament leading the circuit in scoring with a points per game average of 19.6 while owning a Robert Morris single-season record 103 three-pointers. In RMU’s regular-season finale @ Wagner (3/1/14), Anderson led all scorers in the contest with 21 points, helping him notch his 15th game of the season eclipsing the 20-point plateau, tying a single-season mark. In two games last week, Anderson averaged 21.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game.Â
