A pair of from the Robert Morris volleyball team are honored with the Chick-Fil-A Robinson RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week nod for Sept. 11, 2019. Sophomore libero Nikolette Zanolli is bestowed one of the plaudits after helping guide the Colonials to a perfect 7-0 record, the best start in program history. In three matches at the Golden Flashes Classic last weekend, Zanolli, a native of Massillon, Ohio, finished with 75 digs, including a season-high 31 in a sweep of Idaho State (9/6) to open the tournament. That total tied an RMU three-set record for digs that was originally established by former libero Alaina Gibson (2005-08) against IPFW Sept. 1, 2006. For her efforts, Zanolli was named the Molten/Northeast Conference (NEC) Defensive Player of the Week (9/9). Zanolli also led the way in a 3-0 sweep of Duquesne (9/10) at the UPMC Events Center to help Robert Morris stay perfect with a match-high 13 digs as the Colonials knocked off the Dukes for the first time since 2007. In 26 sets, Zanolli owns a team-high 150 digs, an average of 5.77 per set.
