In helping lead Robert Morris to the team title at the 2014 Lonnie Barton Invitational in its first competition of the 2014 spring season, junior Santiago Mejia earns the latest Higher Images RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week accolade. A native of Bogota, Columbia, Mejia opened the two-day event with a one-under par 71 before carding a 73 in the second round. His 144 two-day total placed him a tie for first place, and he settled for second place individually after a playoff. Mejia finished with eight birdies, tied for most in the field, and his score of 144 marks the just the fourth time in program history a student-athlete has completed an event at even par or better. Robert Morris finished with a two-day score of 594 to win the event, besting Northeast Conference foe Fairleigh Dickinson by 14 strokes.
