Sophomore Maggy Burbidge of the hockey team has been tabbed the Chick-Fil-A Robinson RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for March 10, 2021. She joins teammate Gillian Thompson in sharing the honor. Burbidge was named the MVP of the 2021 College Hockey America (CHA) Tournament after finishing with three goals and an assist in helping lead the Colonials to their third CHA Tournament crown and first since 2017. She scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lift RMU to a 3-2 win over Mercyhurst (3/5/21) and send the Colonials to the title game, where she assisted on Thompson’s goal in the first period of an eventual 1-0 win over Syracuse (3/6/21). Burbidge, a native of Falmouth, Nova Scotia, and a middle level education major who has compiled a 3.82 cumulative grade point average (GPA), owns nine goals and eight assists for 17 points in 23 games for RMU in 2020-21 entering the NCAA Tournament.
