Senior defender Emily Curlett of the RMU hockey team has been tabbed the Chick-Fil-A Robinson RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for March 17, 2021. She shares the plaudit with Clio Kerr of the lacrosse squad. Against No. 1 Northeastern at Erie Insurance Arena in Erie, Pa., Monday afternoon, Curlett scored the first goal in NCAA Tournament history for the Colonials. She lit the lamp at 19:03 of the second period on assists from Emilie Harley and Lexi Templeman in helping RMU trim its deficit to 2-1 in the quarterfinals. In 25 games during the 2020-21 season, Curlett helped lead the Colonials to an overall record of 16-8-1 (.660), including a mark of 11-7-1 (.605) in College Hockey America (CHA). She finished the season with 16 points thanks to six goals and 10 assists while posting a plus/minus of +3. Curlett, a native of Lapeer, Mich., and an organizational leadership major who has maintained a 3.97 cumulative grade point average (GPA), owns 92 career points, just one shy of the program record for a defender.
