Graduate student Natalie Higgins of the softball team earns her second Chick-Fil-A Robinson RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week nod in the last three weeks, as she is bestowed the plaudit for April 14, 2021. In a split with UIC last weekend at the North Athletic Complex, Higgins, a native of Middletown, Ohio, hit .500 (7-for-14) with five runs, a double, three home runs and seven RBI. She homered in each of the final three games of the series and also stretched her hitting streak to nine games. In a 6-5 walk-off win in game three of the series against the Flames, Higgins finished 3-for-3 with a run, three RBI, double and home run. The double for Higgins marked No. 41 for her career, tying an RMU school record. Overall on the 2021 season, Higgins leads the Horizon League in batting average (.446), home runs (8) and RBI (38). She is pursuing a master’s degree in organizational leadership at RMU has posted a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50.
