Tabbed the Chick-Fil-A Robinson RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for Dec. 8, 2021, is fifth-year thrower Keturah Hunter of the track & field team. Continuing the dominance that she portrayed during her first season with the Colonials in 2020-21, Hunter picked up right where she left off in RMU’s season opener at the YSU Icebreaker last Friday, claiming gold in the weight throw. Hunter, a native of Florence, S.C., unleashed a hurl of 18.65 meters (61’2.25”), winning the individual title and establishing a new meet record in the process. The distance is the second-best in program history, trailing only her own school record of 18.77 meters that she recorded in her last indoor meet at the 2021 Horizon League Indoor Championships. Hunter is pursuing a Master of Science degree at RMU in cybersecurity and information assurance and has posted a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.89.
