Earning the first Chick-Fil-A Robinson RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week nod of the 2022 calendar year is senior guard Esther Castedo of the basketball team. In a 2-1 (.667) stretch for the Colonials over the holidays, Castedo averaged 12.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists while converting 54.5 percent (12-for-22) of her shots from the field, including 50 percent (7-for-14) from beyond arc. In a 63-55 triumph over Cleveland State (12/30/21) that wrapped up 21, Castedo, a native of Lugo, Spain, posted 18 points, seven rebounds, four assists and a trio of steals in an all-around performance. Overall on the 2021-22 season, Castedo, a management major who owns a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.83, is averaging a team-high 10.8 points per game while ranking second for the Colonials in both assists (29) and steals (17).
