Earning a Thursday blue plate special of the Chick-fil-A Robinson RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week is senior Kahliel Spear of the basketball squad. In a three-game stretch that concluded last night against Detroit Mercy (2/9/22) at the UPMC Events Center, Spear, a native of The Colony, Texas, averaged a double-double at 18.3 points and 10.3 rebounds while also compiling eight assists, two blocks and six steals. He also shot 57.9 percent (22-for-38) from the field and 84.6 percent (11-for-13) at the free-throw line. Spear opened the stretch with a double-double @ UIC (2/3/22) with 23 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Two days later in a 66-49 win @ IUPUI (2/5/22), Spear paced RMU with 17 points and 11 boards and also led the Colonials against the Titans with 15 points and seven boards. Overall on the 2021-22 campaign, Spear leads RMU with averages of 13.9 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest.
