Fifth-year infielder Taylor Rhinehart of the RMU softball team has been tabbed the Chick-fil-A Robinson RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for March 23, 2022. In five games last week, Rhinehart, a native of Woodinville, Wash., hit safely in each one, fashioning a .526 (10-for-19) batting average to go along with six runs, eight RBI, three doubles and three home runs. In a three-game road sweep of Detroit Mercy that opened Horizon League play for the Colonials, Rhinehart helped the Colonials open by series by taking both ends of a doubleheader by collecting three hits in each contest. In the second game, a 14-8 victory in which RMU climbed out of a 5-0 deficit, Rhinehart finished 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI and a pair of dingers. She also added a three-run shot in game two of the 2022 home opener for the Colonials at the North Athletic Complex against Akron (3/22), which came in the bottom of the first and gave RMU the early lead. Overall during the 2022 season, Rhinehart has appeared in 22 games, owning a slash line of .303/.368/.561 while leading the Colonials in home runs (4) and RBI (15).
