Freshman Alaina Koutsogiani of the softball squad is one of two to earn the Chick-fil-A Robinson RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for March 30, 2022. In four games last week, the rookie from Peters Township, Pa., hit .417 (8-for-17) with seven runs, two home runs, four RBI and six stolen bases. In the opener of two-game set @ UIC (3/25), an 8-1 victory, Koutsogiani finished 2-for-5 with a run, RBI and two stolen bases. Her second steal of the contest, a theft of home as part of a double steal, marked her 24th stolen base of the 2022 season, establishing a new RMU single-season record. Koutsogiani helped the Colonials complete the doubleheader sweep in game two against the Flames with a 13-7 triumph by going 3-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, her first two NCAA Division I home runs and a stolen base. Overall during the 2022 season Koutsogiani owns a slash line of .325/.444/.475 and leads RMU in runs (21) and stolen bases (25).
