Earning the Higher Images RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for May 7, 2014, is junior Richard Njenga of the track & field squad. At the 2014 Northeast Conference Outdoor Championships, which was hosted by Robert Morris at the RMU Island Sports Center on Neville Island, Njenga, a native of Ephrata, Pa., claimed the individual championship and All-NEC First Team honors in the triple jump with a leap of 15.38 meters (50’5.50”). The mark, a personal record, qualified Njenga for the IC4A/ECAC Championships and also ranks third all-time in the event in Robert Morris history. Njenga’s performance helped the Colonials finish third at the NEC Outdoor Championships with a final point tally of 108 points.
