Named the Most Outstanding Field Performer at the 2014 Northeast Conference Outdoor Championships, senior Rachael Kotula of the track & field squad garners the latest Higher Images RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week. A native of East Berlin, Pa., Kotula qualified for the IC4A/ECAC Championships in the shot put, discus and the javelin at the 2014 NEC Championships, which was hosted by Robert Morris at the RMU Island Sports Center on Neville Island. In the her signature event, the javelin, Kotula earned silver with a toss of 45.09 meters (147’11”) to take home All-NEC Second Team accolades. She also placed second to garner All-NEC Second Team honors in the shot put with a distance of 13.70 meters (44’11.50”) while earning bronze in the discus thanks to a mark of 43.09 meters (149’9”).
