Earning a special Thursday edition of the Chick-fil-A Robinson RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 17, 2022, is junior guard Enoch Cheeks of the basketball team. In a pair of wins at the UPMC Events Center to open the home portion of the 2022-23 campaign for the Colonials and spaced a week apart, Cheeks, a native of Providence, R.I., averaged 20.5 points, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals while converting a smoking 82.4 percent (14-for-17) of his shots from the field, including 81.8 percent (9-for-11) from beyond the arc. In an 84-49 win over Pitt Greensburg (11/9/22), Cheeks knocked down eight of his nine shots from the field en route to 20 points while grabbing four rebounds. A week later in a 111-56 triumph over West Virginia Wesleyan (11/16/22) in which RMU matched its single-game record for points, Cheeks tied a career high with 21 points and also added six dimes, four steals and a pair of rejections. Early on during the 2022-23 season, Cheeks paces the Colonials in scoring (19.3 ppg), assists (8), steals (6) and blocks (4).
