Named the final Chick-fil-A Robinson RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week of the 2022 calendar year is junior forward Matt Mayers of the basketball squad. He shares the honor with teammate Enoch Cheeks. In a 77-66 win over Saint Francis U (12/21/22) at the UPMC Events Center that wrapped up the non-conference slate for the Colonials for 2022-23, Mayers contributed 10 points and a season-high nine rebounds off the bench. Of his nine caroms, five were of the offensive variety, and he also shot 3-for-5 from the field and 4-for-6 at the free-throw line while also registering a block. Overall during the 2022-23 campaign, Mayers, a native of Hastings-On-Hudson, N.Y., is producing averages of 5.2 points and 4.0 rebounds per game while knocking down 58.1 percent (25-for-43) of his shots from the floor.
