Selected as the Chick-fil-A Robinson RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week for Feb. 8, 2023, is sophomore forward Phoenix Gedeon of the basketball team, who earns her fourth honor of the winter season. She also shares the honor with Gracie Parker of the track & field squad. In a road split last weekend, Gedeon, a native of Montreal, Quebec, averaged 18.5 points and 13.5 rebounds while shooting 44.8 percent (13-for-29) from the floor and 91.7 percent (11-for-12) at the free-throw line. In a 71-63 victory @ Purdue Fort Wayne (2/4/23) that wrapped up RMU’s road swing, Gedeon led the charge with her third consecutive double-double and 10th of the year with a career-high 23 points and 11 rebounds. She finished 8-for-15 from the field and a perfect 7-for-7 at the free-throw line and also added a pair of steals. Overall during the 2022-23 campaign, Gedeon is pacing the Colonials in both scoring and rebounding, producing averages of 13.6 points and 8.4 rebounds per contest.
