Senior guard Michael Green III of the basketball team has been tabbed the Chick-fil-A Robinson RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for March 1, 2023. In a home-and-home series with IUPUI, including the first round of the 2023 Barbasol Horizon League Tournament at the UPMC Events Center, Green III averaged 15.5 points while shooting 47.6 percent (10-for-21) from the field, including 46.2 percent (6-for-13) from beyond the arc, and 83.3 percent (5-for-6) at the free-throw line. In a 67-64 victory over IUPUI (2/28/23) that propelled the Colonials to the quarterfinals of the #HLMBB Tournament Thursday @ Cleveland State, Green III hit a three-pointer with 2.1 seconds to play that gave the Colonials the victory. Overall in 30 games this season, Green III, a native of the Bronx, N.Y., is averaging 8.8 points while ranking fourth in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.97).
