Zac Lynch of the ice hockey team earns the Higher Images RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for June 11, 2014, after being selected a Capital One Academic All-American last week from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Lynch is the first student-athlete from the Robert Morris men’s ice hockey team to earn Academic All-America status as well as the eighth overall since 2004. A manufacturing engineering major, Lynch has compiled a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA). During the 2013-14 campaign, Lynch finished second for the Colonials in scoring with 47 points, compiling 19 goals and a team-high 28 assists. He also led RMU with a +21 plus/minus rating. Lynch helped lead the Colonials to their first Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA) Tournament championship and subsequent bid to the NCAA Tournament.Â
