RMU Falls to Cleveland State, 3-0

Cleveland, Ohio - The Robert Morris University volleyball team traveled to Woodling Gymnasium Saturday evening to take on Cleveland State. The Colonials lost the match, 3-0 (30-25, 33-31, 30-19), to drop their record to 5-7 on the season. The victory improved Cleveland State to 10-2 on the season.

Junior setter Tawnya Storino (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Baldwin) lead the Colonials in both assists with 38 and digs 13 to finish with the matches lone double-double. Storino also tallied four kills and one block assist.

Sophomore outside hitter Cassie Lee (Vista, Calif. / Vista) led the offensive attack for the Colonials with 12 kills on 30 attempts. Lee also tallied four digs and two block assists. Junior middle blocker / outside hitter Emily Wolthius (Byron Center, Mich. / South Christian) finished with 11 kills, six digs and two service aces. Rounding out the Colonials with double-digit kills was junior middle blocker Haley Schroeder (Kenmore, N.Y. / Kenmore West) with 10 kills on 17 attempts. Schroeder also finished with two service aces and one dig.

Senior outside hitter / middle blocker Le'Sheala Dawson (San Diego, Calif. / University City) tallied a team high four total blocks to go along with three kills, one assist and one dig.

Robert Morris, under the guidance of fourth-year head coach Rob Thomas, returns to action Sunday, September 17, when they host Morgan State. The match is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. at the Charles L. Sewall Center.
