Brooklyn, N.Y. ? The Robert Morris University volleyball team fell to Long Island, 3-0 (22-30, 27-30, 20-30), Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Colonials are now 10-8 on the season including 0-1 in Northeast Conference action.
Emily Wolthuis (Byron Center, Mich. / South Christian) led the Colonial offense with eight kills, while Jennifer Stambaugh (Union Bridge, Md. / Francis Scott Key) and Amanda Graham (Melbourne, Fla. / Eau Gallie) each tallied seven kills. Stambaugh also finished with three digs and one block assist, while Graham also tallied two digs and two block assists.
Cassie Lee (Vista, Calif. / Vista) chipped in six kills and, five digs, one service ace, one assist and one block assist. Setter Tawnya Storino (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Baldwin) finished with 24 assists and 13 digs for a double-double while Alaina Gibson (Muncie, Ind. / Muncie Burris) tallied 10 digs.
The Colonials return to action Sunday, October 14 as they take on St. Francis (N.Y.) at 1:00 p.m.
