Brooklyn, N.Y. ? The Robert Morris University volleyball team improved to 11-8 overall on the season, including 1-1 in Northeast Conference action, by defeating Saint Francis (N.Y.), 3-0 (30-20, 30-12, 30-20), Sunday afternoon.
Senior Jennifer Stambaugh (Union Bridge, Md. / Francis Scott Key) and freshman Amanda Graham (Melbourne, Fla. / Eau Gallie) led the Colonial offense with 12 kills each. Stambaugh also tallied four digs, while Graham picked up a pair of digs. Cassie Lee (Vista, Calif. / Visat) also tallied double digit kills by tallying 11, along with two digs and one service ace.
Senior setter Tawnya Storino (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Baldwin) dished out 43 assist, while also tallying six kills, four service acres and three digs. Junior Alaina Gibson (Muncie, Ind. / Muncie Burris) recorded a match high 13 digs, along with two service aces.
The Colonials return to action Tuesday, October 16 as they play their final non-conference match of the 2007 season when they travel to Pittsburgh for a 7:00 p.m. match.
