Pittsburgh, Pa. ? The Robert Morris University volleyball team was defeated by Pitt, 3-1 (22-30, 31-29, 28-30, 22-30), Tuesday night at the Fitzgerald Field House. The loss dropped the Colonials record to 11-9 on the season.
Senior Emily Wolthuis (Byron Center, Mich. / South Christian) led the Colonial offense with 17 kills, while freshman Amanda Graham (Melbourne, Fla. / Eau Gallie) recorded 15 kills. Wolthuis also finished with 24 digs finishing off her double-double.
Cassie Lee (Vista, Calif. / Vista), Jessy Nelko (Aliquippa, Pa. / Hopewell) and Jennifer Stambaugh (Union Bridge, Md. / Francis Scott Key) all finished with seven kills. Stambaugh also tallied five digs and three service aces.
Tawnya Storino (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Baldwin) recorded 52 assists and nine digs, while Alaina Gibson (Muncie, Ind. / Muncie Burris) totaled 17 digs.
The Colonials resume Northeast Conference play Saturday, October 20 when they host Wagner at 5:00 p.m.
