Colonials Sweep Saint Francis (Pa.) in Season Finale

Moon Township, Pa. ? The Robert Morris University volleyball team defeated Saint Francis (Pa.) Sunday afternoon, 3-0 (30-17, 30-23, 30-28), in their regular season finale. With the victory, the Colonials secure the third seed in the Northeast Conference Tournament with an overall record of 16-10 including a 6-2 NEC mark.

 

Junior Cassie Lee (Vista, Calif. / Vista) led the RMU offense with 11 kills, while freshman Amanda Graham (Melbourne, Fla. / Eau Gallie) chipped in 10 kills. Lee also tallied two service aces, two digs and two total blocks. Graham finished with a .526 hitting percentage and a pair of service aces and block assists.

 

Senior Tawnya Storino (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Baldwin) dished out a match high 32 assists, along with seven digs, one kill and one block assist. Junior Alaina Gibson (Muncie, Ind. / Muncie Burris) paced the Colonials with 15 digs.

 

Senior Jennifer Stambaugh (Union Bridge, Md. / Francis Scott Key) tallied eight kills and five digs in her Sewall Center finale, while senior Jessica Camaioni (Williamstown, N.J. / Williamstown) recorded five digs and two service aces.

 

The Colonials return to action Saturday, Nov. 17 as they open the 2007 NEC Tournament.
