Wolthuis Leads Attack Past Fairleigh Dickinson

Moon Township, Pa. / Sewall Center?The Robert Morris University volleyball team secured a 3-0 win over Fairleigh Dickinson Saturday afternoon in a Northeast Conference match at the Charles L. Sewall Center. The Colonials won 30-22, 30-26 and 30-21 to improve to 14-10 overall and 4-2 in the NEC while the Knights fall to 12-14 and 3-3 in conference.

 

Senior Emily Wolthuis (Byron Center, Mich. / South Christian) led the Colonial attack with 16 kills and just two errors. She finished the game with a .412 attack percentage, adding 11 digs for a double-double performance. Wolthuis also had one ace.

 

Senior setter Tawnya Storino (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Baldwin) racked up 42 assists, seven digs and an assist. She also had two kills.

 

Junior Cassie Lee (Vista, Calif. / Vista) finished with 11 kills and three blocks. Freshman Amanda Graham (Melbourne, Fla. / Eau Gallie) had four blocks, five digs and nine kills. Junior libero Alaina Gibson (Muncie, Ind. / Muncie Burris) had 15 digs while senior Jennifer Stambaugh (Union Bridge, Md. / Francis Scott Key) had a team-best 16 digs.

 

The Colonials return to action Sunday, November 4, when they host Sacred Heart in a 1:00 p.m. match.
