Fort Wayne, Indiana - The Robert Morris University men's tennis team continued its 2007 spring season this past weekend by dropping a pair of matches, dropping a 6-1 decision at IPFW in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Feb. 16, before suffering a 7-0 defeat to Illinois-Chicago, Feb. 17, in a neutral site match. The pair of losses drops the overall record of the Colonials to 1-7 so far in 2006-07.
Against the Dons freshman Sean Curley (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Woodland Hills) garnered a victory at the No. 1 singles flight, downing Nabil Mourad Filho, 7-5 and 6-1. Freshman David Pinto (Burlington, Ontario / Nelson) also took Hermann Kuschke to three sets at No. 2 singles before falling, 6-2, 2-6 and 6-1. Against UIC, senior T.J. Delorie (McMurray, Pa. / Peters Township) battled Tim O'Brien at the No. 6 singles flight before dropping a 6-3, 6-4 decision.
RMU is next in action Saturday, Feb. 24, when it ravels to Dayton, Ohio, for a pair of matches. The Colonials will take on Chicago State in a neutral site match slated to start at 9:00 a.m. before taking on host Wright State at 2:00 p.m. Robert Morris will also return home to face Cleveland State Sunday, Feb. 25, for a match slated to start at 11:00 a.m.
