Buffalo, N.Y. - The
Robert Morris University softball was defeated twice Wednesday, 5-3 and 1-0, when they traveled to Canisius for a pair of non-conference games. The pair of defeats drops the Colonials to 9-15 on the season.
Sophomore
Brooke Panepinto (Belle Vernon, Pa. / Belle Vernon) was the Colonials offense in game one hitting her third home run of the season, a three run shot. Panepinto finished the game 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run scored.
Jill Spargo (Warren, Pa. / Warren Area) and
Camille Kline (Titusville, Pa. / Titusville) scored the other two runs for RMU.
RMU managed only three hits in game two coming from Spargo, Panepinto and
Susan Perich (Center, Pa. / Center).
Danielle Cohen (Marlton, N.J. / Cherokee) pitched six innings in game one, giving up five runs on three hits, while walking three batters. She also struck out 10 batters.
Brenna Reed (Carnegie, Pa. / Montour) pitched game two for RMU, allowing only one run on six hits, while striking out four and walking three batters.
