Princess Anne, Md. ? The Robert Morris University volleyball team defeated Norfolk State, 3-0 (30-27, 30-18, 30-17), running its winning streak to six games, Friday evening on the opening day of the Maryland-Eastern Shore Tournament. The Colonials are now 10-4 on the season.
Four Colonials tallied double-digit kills, with freshman Amanda Graham (Melbourne, Fla. / Eau Gallie) leading the way with 13 kills. She also tallied one block, one service ace and one assist. Emily Wolthuis (Byron Center, Mich. / South Christian) finished with 12 kills and eight digs and both Cassie Lee (Vista, Calif. / Vista) and Jennifer Stambaugh (Union Bridge, Md. / Francis Scott Key) tallied 10 kills.
Senior setter Tawnya Storino (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Baldwin) finished with 40 assists, six service aces, two digs, one kill and one block assist, while Alaina Gibson (Muncie, Ind. / Muncie Burris) tallied eight digs and one service ace.
The Colonials close out the Maryland-Eastern Shore Tournament Saturday against Delaware State at 9:00 a.m. and Maryland-Eastern Shore at 1:00 p.m.
