Moon Township, Pa.?Robert Morris University women's golfers Morgan Beikirch (Livonia, N.Y. / Livonia), an upcoming senior, and Heather Mulvaney (Greenwood, Ind. / Center Grove), a 2008 graduate, earned National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar awards for their effort on the course and in the classroom this past season. A total of 402 women's collegiate golfers in Division I, II and III were recognized for the prestigious honor. To be eligible for the All-American Scholar Team, golfers must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and have competed in 50% of the team's rounds during the year.
Beikirch, a two-sport athlete who also plays ice hockey for the Colonials, played in a five tournaments this season. She finished the year with a 91.58 stroke average. An elementary education major, her best finish of the season was an 11th place showing at the Saint Francis (Pa.) Red Flash Invitational.
Mulvaney was again one of the Colonials top performers, posting four top-10 finishes and was second on the squad with an 86.40 stroke average. A sports management major, Mulvaney played her best in the fall season, taking 10th at the Red Flash Invitational, a finish she matched in the team's own Holiday Inn Colonial Classic the following week. She made it three straight top-10 showings tying for ninth position at the Mount St. Mary's Fall Invitational. Mulvaney also finished seventh at the Mount St. Mary's Spring Thing.
