Box Score

Moon Township, Pa. / North Athletic Complex – The Robert Morris University men's soccer team rode to first half goals to a 2-1 win over the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights as the Colonials picked up their first Northeast Conference win of the season. RMU improves to 5-1 at North Athletic Complex this season while moving to 6-4-2 overall and 1-1 in the league. FDU slips to 7-4-1 and 0-1-1 in league games.

Sophomore Bruce Cullen (Pickering, Ontario / Pine Ridge) picked up his sixth and seventh assists of the season as he helped set up both RMU goals.

The Colonials second shot of the game was the first goal on a corner kick in the 35th minute.  A low corner kick by Cullen to the near post was flicked into the box by junior Carl Reid (Kingston, Jamaica / St. Georges) where senior Miro Cabrilo (Hamilton, Ontario / Glendale) volleyed his shot inside the near post for his third goal of the year.

Cullen set up the Colonials second goal just five minutes later, this time from the opposite side of the field. From the left side, Cullen played a short cross to the feet of sophomore Neco Brett (Kingston, Jamaica / Excelsior) in the center of the box. Brett controlled his first touch, then found the inside of the left post for his 10th goal of the season.

The Knights got on the board in the 75th minute when Christian Dietrich feathered a diagonal pass into box for Enver Cayman. Cayman didn't miss for his first goal of the season, knocking a low shot inside the right post.

Colonials freshman goalkeeper Joseph Kuta (Mississauga, Ontario / St. Joan of Arc) tied his season-high with six saves. Jacob Lissek had four saves for the Knights.

Robert Morris next travels to LIU Brooklyn for a 6:00 p.m. game next Friday, Oct. 18.
