Moon Township, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University volleyball team remained unbeaten in Northeast Conference (NEC) play this afternoon as it defeated St. Francis Brooklyn College in straight sets from the Charles L. Sewall Center.
Robert Morris (8-14, 6-0 NEC) still has not lost a set to a conference foe at home this season, having now swept Fairleigh Dickinson, Sacred Heart, and St. Francis Brooklyn (2-20, 0-6 NEC) in Moon Township.

Becky Jay moved into sole possession of second place for career block assists with six this afternoon. Jay now has 348 for her career, 10 shy of tying Amanda Graham (2007-10) for the program record.

Erica Robb, as her 15 digs slotted her ninth in that category with 1,073.
The Colonials received another strong performance from junior middle blocker
Kristin Thompson, who was their only player with double-digit kills. She tallied 15 kills for the match and hit at a .583 clip, giving her four straight matches of at least seven kills and a hitting percentage of over .375.
RMU flexed its muscles in the first set, dominating the Terriers to the tune of 25-10. The Colonials finished the stanza on a 13-3 run and hit at a .444 clip. Three players – Thompson, Jay, and
Arden Fisher – registered multiple kills in the frame on hitting percentages higher than .500.
The second set was much closer, but RMU prevailed, 25-23. Robb was a key factor offensively in this frame, hitting at a .375 clip with four kills. Senior libero
Melissa Bograd collected 10 of her team-high 18 digs in the game.
The Colonials completed the sweep with a 25-18 victory in the third set. Thompson did most of her damage in this frame, tallying five kills on a .714 hitting percentage. Fellow middle blockers Jay and
April Krivoniak also stepped up in the deciding stanza, as the senior picked up five blocks (1 solo, 4 assist) while the sophomore converted half of her eight attack attempts.
Brianna Frakes and
Hannah Hoffman split time at setter, dishing out 27 and 13 assists, respectively.
Jay added a team-high two service aces in the opening frame to couple with her defensive excellence.
Robert Morris faces its toughest test yet in conference as it hosts fellow undefeated LIU Brooklyn tomorrow afternoon. Opening serve between the Colonials and Blackbirds is set for 1:00 p.m. from the Charles L. Sewall Center.
