Ercoli Nets First Career Goal In Draw at Bryant

Smithfield, R.I. – Battling snow and wind, the Robert Morris University women's soccer team rode senior keeper Becky Schoenecker to a 1-1 draw with Bryant in the season finale Sunday afternoon. The Colonials wrap up the 2014 year with a mark of 4-11-4 overall and 2-3-3 in league games.

Schoenecker tied her career record by making 16 saves in a game for the second time this season. The senior keeper had seven first half stops and made a total of six saves over the two overtime sessions. Schoenecker now owns the season record for save percentage at .871, adding that record to career marks in save percentage (.838) and goals against average (1.23).

Bryant, who put eight first half shots on net, was able to solve Schoenecker in the 14th minute. Suzzane Sanders found space in the box before sending a cross to Emily Barbato. Barbato put her shot across the goal mouth inside the far post.

Schoenecker would be up to task the rest of the way, giving RMU the chance to find the equalizer in the 77th minute. The Colonials were awarded a penalty kick and took advantage of the opportunity as Melissa Ercoli delivered with her first career goal.
