Moon Township, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University men's soccer season came to an inauspicious end with a 4-0 loss to Keystone state rival Saint Francis University Sunday afternoon at North Athletic Complex. RMU finishes the year 7-9-2 overall and 2-4-1 in Northeast Conference play. The Red Flash wrapped up the league's regular season championship improving to 12-5-1 overall and 6-1 in league games.
Ryan Byers finished with a goal and an assist while Conner Rezende had two assists.
Byers opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, finding the left corner from the top of the box. The Red Flash pushed the margin to 2-0 in the 36th minute, Pablo Medina and Brendan McGhee setting up Mitch Kavilick's first goal of the season.
Saint Francis tacked on two more goals in the second half, Calvin Rezende scoring on a long ball from his brother Conner. Andres Vega capped the game's goals in the 86th minute with a header after a cross by Byers.
