Brett Scores Twice to Beat Bison

Washington, D.C. – The reigning NCAA scoring leader, Neco Brett, scored twice in the second half to erase a halftime deficit and lift the Robert Morris University men's soccer team to a 2-1 vicotry at Howard University Sunday afternoon. The victory improves the Colonials record to 4-4-1 while the Bison slip to 0-11-1.
 
Howard opened the scoring in the 17th minute on a header goal by Emmanuel Iledare.  The Bison would carry the lead into halftime as both squads were credited with four shots.
 
Brett, who led all of Division I last season with 36 points, tied the game in the 52nd minute with his seventh marker of the year. Bruce Cullen set up the goal to collect his fifth assist of the year.

Andrew Scheidemantel collected his first career point in the 60th minute setting up the go ahead goal by Brett. Scheidemantel, a junior defender, played a cross from the left wing that found Brett directly in front of the net.
 
Junior Brenden Alfery finished with four saves to earn the victory for an RMU team that held a 14-10 advantage in shots.
 
The Colonials play their third game in six days when they host the Pitt Panthers in a 3:30 p.m. game at North Athletic Complex this Tuesday, Sept. 30.
