Colonials Host Pair of Brooklyn Squads

LIU Brooklyn and St. Francis Brooklyn visit the Sewall Center as NEC race heats up

Moon Township, Pa. As the race to the top of the Northeast Conference (NEC) standings heats up, the Robert Morris University volleyball team hosts LIU Brooklyn on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. and St. Francis Brooklyn on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 3 p.m. in the Charles L. Sewall Center.
 
The Colonials (12-11, 6-2) picked up another NEC win in a dominant offensive performance against Saint Francis U last Saturday. Sophomore setter Brianna Frakes paced the offense with 31 assists and added 10 digs to record her second double-double of the season. Senior Kristin Thompson remains in the zone in conference action, as she tallied 10 kills on .556 hitting and served up a team-leading three aces. RMU held Saint Francis U to zero blocks and posted its best team hitting percentage of the season (.396).

The NEC Lowdown
Robert Morris ranks fourth in the NEC standings with a conference record of 6-2. Sacred Heart leads the league at 7-1, while Bryant and LIU Brooklyn are tied for second at 7-2.

Robert Morris ranks No. 1 in the NEC in digs per set (16.62). Additionally, junior Leah Dunivan ranks first in the conference in blocks per set (1.18) and junior Arden Fisher leads the league in total attacks (882).
 
Stepping Up
Senior Kristin Thompson is hitting .387 in NEC action and has posted kills in double figures in seven of eight conference matches played, including the last five.
