Moon Township, Pa. – March 24, 2015 – The Robert Morris University men's lacrosse team fell to the No. 3 University of Maryland, 13-4, this afternoon from a sunny Joe Walton Stadium.
Freshman goaltender
Chase Rose made a career-high 16 saves for Robert Morris (1-7, 0-1 NEC), who was hosting its first Top 10 opponent since April 17, 2010 when No. 3 North Carolina visited Moon Township.
Maryland (7-1, 0-0 Big Ten) received multi-goal efforts from three different players, led by Colin Heacock's hat trick.
The Colonials were 16 of 18 on clears and forced turnovers on six of the Terrapins' 21 clear attempts.
RMU outscored Maryland in the third quarter, 3-1, as it rattled off three consecutive goals following Heacock's third tally midway through the frame.

Luke Laszkiewicz was the first Colonial to dent the scoreboard with 5:10 remaining in the stanza as he ripped a shot from nine yards out after gathering a feed from senior captain
Jacob Ruest.
Less than two minutes later, redshirt junior
Eric Wales and freshman
Adrian Torok-Orban teamed up for a goal, as the rookie found the former Mercyhurst University transfer following a team turnover by the Terrapins.
Ruest added a tally of his own with 1:39 left in the quarter with a low shot from six yards out. Sophomore midfielder
Marshall Gibson was credited with the assist.
Maryland responded to RMU's three-goal run with three tallies of its own in the fourth quarter, making it 13-3 with 2:09 remaining. The Colonials set the final score 50 seconds later as redshirt junior attack
Ryan Madigan registered his first career goal on a running shot eight yards from the cage.

Chris Barney won eight of 18 draws. Ruest added three groundballs to go along with his goal and assist.
Robert Morris returns to Northeast Conference (NEC) play on Saturday as it hosts Hobart. Opening face-off between the Colonials and Statesmen is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start from Joe Walton Stadium.
