CapsuleThe Robert Morris University men's soccer team is off to its best start since 2007 opening the season 3-1. The Colonials will try to keep the hot start going when they take on two of their toughest opponents so far this weekend at the Veteran's Memorial Cup in Huntington, W. Va.. RMU takes on host Marshall University in a 7:30 p.m. game  Friday, Sept. 11. The Thundering Herd is off to its best start since 2008 at 3-1 earning victories over Detroit, Duquesne and Liberty.

The Series vs. MarshallRobert Morris is 5-1-1 all-time against Marshall. They have not played one another since 2003, a game that the Colonials won, 2-1, at home. RMU is 3-1 in games at Marshall.

Neco Brett ranks fourth in the nation in goals (4) and points (11)
- Robert Morris is 23rd nationally with eight goals and is 29th averaging 2.0 goals per game
- Brett has three hat tricks in his career, tied for most in team history with Jacek Przednowek (2005-07)
- Brett was named to the Mac Hermann Trophy Watch List, an award that is given annually to the best men's soccer player in the nation
- A two-time NEC Player of the Year, Brett is the leading scorer in NCAA Division I since 2013 accumulating 80 points on 34 goals and 12 assists
- Robert Morris has played two consecutive overtime games, defeating Saint Peter's 2-1 and falling to Eastern Illinois by that same score. RMU has not played three straight OT contests since 2006
- Four of the top five scorers from last season's squad are gone and are just one reason for the team's 27 player roster, one of the largest in recent memory
- Robert Morris has led the NEC in goals, assists and points in each of the last two seasons
- The Colonials were selected sixth in the 2015 NEC Preseason Poll
