Final Invitational of the Season Opens Friday

Colonials close out non-conference tournament slate with Blue/Gold Invitational

Moon Township, Pa. – Before the Robert Morris University volleyball team dives into Northeast Conference action, the Colonials will compete in the Blue/Gold Invitational hosted by the University of Toledo on Friday, Sept. 18 and Saturday, Sept. 19 at Savage Arena.

RMU (5-5) went 0-3 against some stiff competition at the Borderland Invitational in Las Cruces, N.M., and El Paso, Texas, last weekend. The Colonials were swept by New Mexico State and Brown and forced UTEP to a fourth before falling, 3-1. One win this weekend could boost Robert Morris above its best non-conference mark under head coach Dale Starr (the Colonials tabbed five non-NEC wins in 2011).
