Pittsburgh, Pa. - Robert Morris University men's hockey earned a hard-fought 2-1 win Friday night over Army West Point in the Colonials home opener. With the Black Knights leading 1-0 in the second period, freshman forward Daniel Mantenuto notched his first career goal to tie the game 1-1. Timmy Moore scored his third goal of the season, a power play goal, to put the Colonials ahead 2-1 with less than three minutes remaining in the second.

RMU advances their overall record to 2-2-1 holding the same record in conference play. Army is now 2-2-1, 2-1-0 in Atlantic Hockey.

Robert Morris finished with a 30-28 advantage in shots on goal.

The Colonials won the faceoff battle by a 33-30 margin. Brady Ferguson took the bulk of the draws, winning 17 and losing 8.

TONIGHT'S MO-MENTUM
Timmy Moore's go-ahead power play goal to give the Colonials a 2-1 lead marks the first game-winning goal of his career. It's the third goal of the season for Moore and his eleventh career goal.
