Pittsburgh, Pa. -- The Robert Morris University men's hockey seniors lived up to their billing on Senior Night with a milestone-filled performance by several members of the Class of 2016, winning 6-2 over Canisius.
Greg Gibson scored the first goal of the game and finished the scoring with two more to cap the 6-2 victory with his second hat trick of the season.
Zac Lynch assisted on the first goal and collected three before the night was done, tying
Cody Wydo '15 for the RMU all-time scoring record with 150 career points.
David Friedmann scored two goals and picked up an assist, now 6 points away from reaching 100 for his career.
Brandon Denham scored a goal and an assist and is now 7 points away from 100 for his career.
While the offense stole the show,
Terry Shafer made 36 saves, several drawing rousing cheers from the large crowd in attendance. The victory is the 40th of Shafer's career and puts him in sole possession of 2nd all-time in scoring at Robert Morris. Senior defenseman
Chase Golightly led the Colonials defense with 4 blocked shots as well.

Robert Morris (21-9-4, 18-6-4 AHC) celebrated its' regular season Atlantic Hockey championship with a trophy presentation on the ice after the game. On hand were league commissioner Bob DeGregorio and Robert Morris University President Dr. Chris Howard.
The Colonials head into a bye week as the first round of Atlantic Hockey playoffs gets underway and will host a second round series beginning March 11 at 84 Lumber Arena in Pittsburgh.
