Staten Island, N.Y. – The
Robert Morris University men's lacrosse team extended its current winning streak to three games as it closed the regular season with an 18-12 victory over Wagner Saturday morning in Staten Island, N.Y.
The Colonials (7-7, 4-2) enter the 2016 Northeast Conference Tournament on a three-game victorious run with the win over the Seahawks (6-9, 1-5).
Eleven different Colonials posted points in the victory. Senior attack
Luke Laszkiewicz led the way with seven goals and two assists for a Robert Morris single game record-tying nine points, while senior midfield
Eric Rankel recorded a season-best four goals. Both recorded a hat trick by the first quarter. Senior midfield

Adrian Torok-Orban scored twice and dished one helper.
Wagner reduced the Robert Morris lead to two goals at 10:19 in the third quarter, but the Colonials started to pull away when they scored four consecutive goals. Laszkiewicz scored three of the four goals during the run. The Seahawks scored with one second left in the third and carried that momentum into the fourth as they posted the first goal of the final frame, but RMU responded with another run and increased its lead to a game-high seven goals with 7:36 remaining in the game.
Although Wagner attempted a team-best 13 shots in the fourth quarter, Robert Morris countered with 30 shots in the second half and scored 11 of its 18 goals in the final 30 minutes of action.
The Colonials put a season-high 31 shots on goal and took a season-best 52 total shots. RMU performed well on both sides of the ball, as defensively, Robert Morris caused a season-high 12 turnovers.
RMU will head to No. 1 seed Saint Joseph's to take on the top-seeded Hawks in the semifinal round of the 2016 NEC Tournament on Thursday, May 5 at a time to be determined.

Luke Laszkiewicz is putting together an impressive senior campaign. He has now scored 30 goals or more in his last two seasons and has recorded a career-high 16 assists and 67 points in 2016 with postseason play remaining. Laszkiewicz leads the NEC in goals (51) and goals per game (3.64), and ranks second in the nation in goals per game.
